3 reasons winter may be the best time for your strata to do a full fence replacement? So we understand we are writing this one a little early as we are just coming up on the end of July. We felt we needed to address this topic in case you are thinking of deferring your project to next summer. Many strata’s are realizing they don’t have the means or the time to get to the project this summer.

Winter could be the best time to replace your rotting fence! If you are in an area that gets tons of snow then you may not be the intended audience for this post. We are based here in Vancouver, British Columbia. We don’t get a lot of snow for the most part and winter is a very opportunistic time to capitalize on a full fence replacement project. We are going to give you 3 reasons pertaining to why this is.

  1. Contractors will have more time and your fence will be installed faster.

Spring/Summer is the peak season in the fence business. Contractors are usually slammed during this time. The average consumer’s mentality does shift when wintertime rolls around. Most people are no longer fixated on making improvements to their yard. They start thinking about a multitude of other things. They retire their tools for the season and move on to other activities. This means good fence contractors are ready and available to help you with your project, which means you’ll be able to get that new fence installed in a flash by the contractor that is likely to do the best job for the most reasonable rate. They will have an abundance of time and prices will probably be lower as it is not peak season. There is also an added bonus of the contractor likely being able to assign more people to the project, which will cause the entire job to go quicker because of all of the extra hands.

  1. The weather is more likely to be on your side.

Remember the heatwave earlier this summer? That definitely backed things up and created issues for trades. It’s hard to get jobs done on time when it’s 42 degree’s outside. Well, the wintertime in the lower mainland actually creates very good working conditions for fence installers. Cold temperatures can make the cement pouring and digging process much easier.

  1. Free up some time to enjoy the sun next summer.

Wouldn’t it be better to spend your summer entertaining and sipping cold beverages rather than coordinating and dealing with a full fence replacement project? The world goes into a state of hibernation in the wintertime. If your strata is able to hustle during those months you can set yourself up for an awesome summer and get a lot done in the process! Plan a trip this summer and deal with your rotting fence this winter! Thank us for the idea later.
